Hi Everybody!

Well it took some doing, but I will be adding my first CD, "Thanks For The Memories", very shortly to this site. Two things you should do ad an Indie artist, which will save you time, and money, somewhere down the road if you ever decide to relist your music with another distributor. Make sure you save the UPC, or barcode numbers, and the ISRC number assigned to each song, someplace where they will be easy to obtain, years down the road. One other thing you might want to make sure of is you have dropped a distributor, check with various platforms to make sure your music has been removed by that company. Almost 7 years later I found the company who I failed to renew my contract with, was still offering my music for sale, and collecting funds when they sold it, that were not getting transferred to me. To make a long story short, the CD has been removed form their list, the money they collected is suppose to be on the way to me, and I can now offer it through CD baby, and all the platforms they offer distribution at.

Shortly I will finish the paper work for my new singles, register them with the proper PRO's, and start listing them on CD Baby as well. My plan is to test market them on the CD Baby website, and if they do well I will pay the funds required to distribute them on other platforms, as well as consider eventually releasing a new CD. That's all going to be considered based upon you the fan's. Your feedback, and how many of you think the songs are worth purchasing, will dictate where we go in the future. If you really appreciate the Artist, and want to keep hearing their music, you have to be willing to support them buy buying their music, and their merchandise. Talk at you soon.

It's been a while since I have had a chance to get back to this blog. I am still struggling to get back in the swing of things, and when you add to that, all the processes one has to deal with to rejuvenate a career, it can be a mighty slow process. Producing new material, getting all the legal things done to insure you get paid for your work when the opportunity presents itself, as well as the copyright process, developing the website, planning out a P/R campaign, and building all the hype that makes one successful, can be quite a daunting task. I got out to play a couple times this month, sold a couple CD's, and made a few new fans, so it hasn't been all work and no play. I will be contacting CD Baby very shortly and adding my "Thanks For The Memories" CD to the audio section, as well as maybe a new single release. My intention is to release 4 or 5 singles over the coming months, and if they prove to be popular, and there is enough interest in them, I will consider putting out another CD. When I look at where the industry is today, it takes me back to the beginning of things. Back to a time when the major labels didn't offer the opportunity to record an album until the artist put out a few singles that showed some potential. I believe that is where the new business plan is headed to. In this day and age of, do it yourself Music, the cost of producing a CD still can be a major investment. Every Artist needs to invest wisely, and plan accordingly. The old path to success, and how we measure it today in the industry, has to change. The music industry as we knew it, no longer exists. We can no longer judge the success of an Artist, or a songwriter, just by the sale of their product, or how much money they have in the bank. The industry has diluted it's bench marks drastically, and yet there were no Country music albums that went platinum this past year, and that's considering Platinum is easier to achieve than ever before. It's a new adventure for the music industry, there is no blue print for success anymore. The old standards, and pathways, no longer exist. It doesn't matter today if your George Strait, or little Johnny No Cash, we are all in the same boat. Searching for a way to create revenue, and increase our audience. Under those conditions, slow, and steady, is the best possible scenario. I'll let you know when there are changes in the website, and when anything new is being released.

I have managed to get the basics up and running on the website. It's not as glamorous as I would like to see it, but it provides the essential basics. I am sure there will be many additions, and changes in the next few weeks so keep checking back. I know some of the information is redundant from page to page, but I have not found a way remove it from every page, and I am beginning to think there is none. I will be contacting host baby shortly with a list of questions, and hopefully get some answers. Make sure to bookmark the site and return often. If you have a review, or a testimony, you would like to have added, or just a comment, go to the contact page and let us know.
